A beautiful new chapter unfolded on Wednesday, 4th June 2025, as the vibrant Kiukenda Parish opened its arms and hearts to welcome its new minister, Rev. Joyce Matheka, with warmth, joy, and heartfelt celebration.
Rev. Joyce, who faithfully served the Mbooni Nendeni area, attached to Nairobi north Presbytery was transferred to Kiu kenda Parish in a pastoral move. The air was charged with anticipation and gratitude as she arrived, accompanied by a delegation of members from her former parish.
The Kiu kenda Kirk Session, joined by church members and elders, orchestrated a colourful and moving welcome ceremony. Smiles, songs, and heartfelt prayers filled the sanctuary as the parish officially embraced their new minister. It was a touching moment when members from both parishes, Mbooni Nendeni and Kiu kenda, joined hands in symbolic unity, reflecting the spirit of togetherness in Christ’s ministry.
In her brief address, Rev. Joyce expressed deep gratitude for her time at Mbooni Nendeni area and immense excitement for the journey ahead at Kiu kenda Parish.
